Private Concert/Happy Hour We are passionate about the singer/songwriter community in Nashville. You can join us in support by adding a private concert/happy hour to your reservation. Entry
The front doors are original to the home and are 90+ years old. Please open and close with care.
Your digital key is available through the August App.
The August App can be initially confusing, but once you get the steps it can be quite freeing. Ditching the old school keys lets you have a peace of mind while on your Nashville adventures. Treat this as your hotel key.
The August Locks are connected via Bluetooth. This means, when you would like to access the lock, you will need to take out your phone and open the August App.
Once you open the August App, you should be at the home screen. Click on “The NashVilla” bar. You will then be taken to one of three screens:
Simply tap on that circle to lock or unlock the door! Remember to pull the front door towards you to align the locking mechanism when trying to lock the front door. Also, please do not manually turn the lock once inside, lightly push on the door (there is a little play in the door due to weather) and tap the circle on your phone to lock. Opening and closing the locks manually may cause them to malfunction.
Parking
Please use extra caution when parking in the driveway. This is for your safety as Wedgewood is a high traffic street and cars turn very quickly onto Villa Place, often not noticing cars backing out of the NashVilla. We have no camera coverage for parking in the back alley.
1. Driveway
No parking under the covered carport.
2. Parking in back
Parking is limited to the driveway, the street along Villa Place or behind the house as shown in the image above. We ask that you please adhere to any parking signs along the street as Nashville is very attentive to those who violate! When backing out of the driveway, please take extra precaution. When parking behind the home, it is necessary to still enter through the front door and not the back gate. Please do not block trash removal. Back gate should remain closed the entire stay.
Kitchen
Make yourself at home. You will find continental breakfast items throughout the kitchen, please help yourself. We have also provided you with all the tools and utensils needed to make your favorite recipes.
Continental breakfast items such as unlimited coffee (pods/grounds), creamers, water, soda, juices, fruit, cream cheese, jellies/jams, snack baskets, oatmeal, breakfast basics such as butter, milk, sweeteners, and a variety of more. Filters for coffee are also provided.
Refrigerator drawers located to the left of the trash bins CANNOT be opened at the same time. Please open one drawer at a time. Feel free to enjoy the breakfast items and condiments from the fridge during your stay.
Kitchen faucet: Hot and Cold are opposite.
Water: We recommend only drinking filtered water in Nashville. A filtered water pitcher has been provided for your convenience. NashVilla plastic cups are NOT disposable. Please put on top shelf of dishwasher for cleaning.
To fill the coffee machine with water, press down on the coffee stand to roll machine forward.
Extra coffee, filters, etc. can be found in the drawer under the microwave.
Glass door between kitchen and porch helps with heating/ cooling of home. If opened too far the door will swing so please use caution.
Wood cutting boards on counters are display only. Cutting boards for use are in the kitchen drawers.
Wall sconces: please do not unscrew light bulbs. There is a on/off switch on the wall.
Personal Chefs are wonderful. Sometimes they accidentally remove the silverware or larger cooking utensils and pans. Unfortunately, we have to charge for replacement. It's important to let your chef know this prior to cooking. They also should be responsible for removing excessive trash.
Features
Back Gate
Back gate should remain closed the entire stay.
Bathroom Etiquette
Please use the makeup towels provided.
This home is 90 years old and so are her pipes. Please do not throw wet wipes, toilet paper other than what is provided and feminine hygiene products down the commode.
Bluetooth Speakers
Located on the dining room bar. Connect to Bose Resolve through bluetooth. You can connect both speakers if you download the Resolve app to your phone. Speakers can be taken outside in good weather and need to be brought back in to the charging stations on the bar.
Cameras
We have three outdoor cameras for the safety of our guests. (Front Door, Backyard, Carport Door). If you are parked in the driveway your cars will be on camera. If you are parked in the alley or on the street, we do not have cameras coverage.
We believe our neighborhood is safe, however, Wedgewood is a very busy street. We do not view the footage unless we find excessive damage or have reports of unusual activity from neighbors. If you hear any noises and feel the need to call us, we can access the cameras for your peace of mind.
Cornhole Boards
The boards are located in the hallway leading to the carport. Please read the guidelines on the underneath of the boards. They are not to be left outside or used in rainy weather.
Decorating
Decorations of any kind MUST BE PRE-APPROVED by owners.
Enclosed Porch
Please do not open windows of any kind that do not have screens - we have a very active squirrel community and want to ensure your stay remains peaceful!
Porch Tables: Do not move without prior approval. NO BEER PONG.
Extra Bedding
For extra linens for the pull out sofas/trundles, there are extra sheets either located in the closet or in one of the drawers of your room dresser.
Fireplace
The fireplace is gas and can be turned on with the knob at the base of the fire logs. Please don’t turn it “OFF”. Turn LEFT to turn it ON and RIGHT back to PILOT (to turn off the fire). If you turn it ON please make sure you turn it back to PILOT. Once it’s lit, turn a little less than “HIGH” if you notice the smell of gas.
Fire Pit
Hang out around the fire pit on the custom 45ft guitar shaped patio. We ask that no shoes or boots on the fire table, we don’t mind your bare feet! These areas are also non-smoking due to furniture and cushions. Please put the cover back on once burners have cooled.
The fire pit uses a propane tank. It's impossible to monitor the level of propane in each tank but we will do our best to provide at least a 1/2 tank.
Front Door
We removed the auto closure on the front iron door to make it easier to bring in/out luggage. Please close this door after entering/leaving the home.
Iron/Ironing Board
For your convenience, there is an Iron/Ironing board as well as steamer located in the upstairs middle Duet closet for your convenience. Please do not iron on any other surfaces than the ironing board.
Motorized Scooters
Any motorized scooters belong on the sidewalks and not on the front lawn of the Nashvilla.
Nest Thermostat
The temperature in the house is controlled by two NEST thermostats. One is on the main floor next to the bathroom. The other is on the second floor at the landing. We recommend changing the temperature one degree at a time as our AC/heating is VERY efficient! Setting the AC really low (below 65) and expecting the house to cool quickly will cause the opposite…the unit will freeze, you will be without air and unfortunately we will have to charge for the service call.
Single Room Rentals
You may hear us from time to time restocking the kitchen or dropping off additional breakfast items/specialty items. Single room rentals work like a bed and breakfast stay so you may encounter your host. We keep our presence minimal.
Smoking
We are a non-smoking home. We have a designated smoking area under the carport for your convenience. Smoking anywhere other than under the carport and disposing of cigarette butts in the provided container will result in damage/extra cleaning charges.
Social Media
We would love it if you’d take a photo to let your friends know about your stay. Please be sure to tag us! You can find our social media handles on our website and on the hallway chalkboard.
Souvenirs
There may be hats or t-shirts displayed from time to time with Venmo info. Please do not take the display. We are happy to provide you with new souvenirs. If you would like to make a purchase while you are staying at the home we can arrange to deliver instead of mailing.
Hats and T-shirts are displayed in the hallway bookcase across from the chalkboard. Venmo info is provided if you do wish to purchase.
Trash
There is one 60 gallon trash bin located under the carport to dispose of trash during your stay and when exiting the property. All trash must be in bags and fit in the bin with the lid closed due to our active neighborhood squirrels. Unfortunately, we will have to charge for excessive trash left outside the bin because Davidson County only removes trash once a week. All boxes must be broken down and put alongside the bins.
TV
Every room has a smart TV for your pleasure. Be courteous of other guests when adjusting volume.
Windows
We know how wonderful the weather can be in the Spring and Fall, however we ask that you do not open windows without screens. We have an active squirrel community and they will enter the home, causing damage that guests will be held responsible for. Many of the windows are also painted closed due to their age.
The exception are the porch windows. You may open the porch windows, but do not leave them open when you are absent from the home. The squirrels will approach if they see no movement.
Shades and Treatments: All window shades and treatments have a pulley system. If you pull on the fabric to open or close shades, damage will result.
Miscellaneous
Turntable is decoration only.
Flower vases, Games, Sewing Kit are in the dining room credenza.
A step ladder is in the first floor closet next to the bathroom.
Cornhole boards are located in the hallway by the carport door.
Koozies are in the bar drawer and we ask that you return them when you are finished using.
